What is Leave Balance and who is it for?

Leave Balance is a cloud-based employee leave management system built for HR teams, operations managers, and growing businesses that want to replace manual spreadsheets with an automated, error-free workflow.

It works for companies of all sizes — from small startups to established enterprises — and supports unlimited employees and leave policy configurations under a single flat-rate subscription.

What does 'cloud-based' mean for my team?

Cloud-based means Leave Balance runs entirely online. No software to install, no servers to maintain. Your HR team and employees can access it from any browser on any device.

Updates and new features are delivered automatically so you always have the latest version without any action needed.

Which leave types does Leave Balance support?

Leave Balance supports any leave type you define — annual leave, sick leave, parental leave, unpaid leave, study leave, and more. You can create unlimited custom leave policies to match your company's specific requirements.

Each policy can have its own accrual rules, carry-over settings, and approval workflows.

Does Leave Balance integrate with Slack or Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Leave Balance integrates with Slack, so employees can submit and check leave requests directly from their Slack workspace without switching tools.

Microsoft Teams integration is also available. Both integrations are designed to keep your team in their existing workflow.

Is my organization's data safe?

Absolutely. All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is encrypted at rest and in transit. Leave Balance is hosted on secure, cloud-managed infrastructure with regular backups and access controls.

We take a security-first approach to ensure your sensitive workforce data is protected at every layer.

Can employees manage their own leave requests?

Yes. Employees get a self-service dashboard where they can submit leave requests, view their remaining balances, and track approval status — without needing to contact HR.

Managers receive instant notifications and can approve or reject requests in one click.

Can I customize leave policies for different departments or offices?

Yes. Leave Balance lets you define separate leave policies for different departments, offices, and locations. This is especially useful for companies operating across multiple countries or regions with different legal leave requirements.

What reporting and analytics does Leave Balance provide?

Leave Balance gives managers and HR teams real-time visibility into leave usage across the organization. Reports include leave balance summaries, absence trends, team calendars, and policy utilization.

These insights help you plan capacity better and spot patterns like excessive absenteeism before they become problems.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

When you sign up, you get full access to all Leave Balance features for 14 days. No feature restrictions. You can set up your organization, invite your team, and test the full workflow.

At the end of the trial, you'll be charged based on the plan you selected during registration. You can cancel before the trial ends from your account settings.

How does pricing work? Is it per user?

Leave Balance uses flat-rate pricing — $10/month or $100/year — regardless of how many employees you have or how many leave policies you configure.

We plan to introduce user-based pricing in the future. Our first 150 customers will be permanently grandfathered into the current flat-rate pricing.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. No phone calls or approval needed.

Monthly subscribers retain access until the end of their billing period. Annual subscribers retain access until the end of the year they paid for. No refunds are issued for unused time.

How do I get started?

Start your 14-day free trial by clicking 'Start free trial' and creating your account. Setup takes less than 10 minutes — enter your company details, create your first leave policy, and invite your team.
