Everything Nepali teams need to track attendance properly

Daily check-in/out

Employees check in and out from the web each day. Late arrivals are flagged automatically against your configured office start time and grace period.

Labour Act 2074 compliant

The Nepal Labour Act requires employers to maintain daily attendance records. Leave Balance creates a systematic digital record of check-in/out times for every employee.

Overtime tracking

Overtime minutes calculated automatically when worked hours exceed the daily total. Configurable weekly cap defaults to 24 hours per week with 1.5x rate — aligned with Nepal Labour Act provisions.

Absence resolution

Unaccounted absences are detected automatically. Resolve as LWOP for payroll deductions, excused absence, or apply retroactive leave — with full audit trail.

CSV export for payroll

Export monthly attendance data as CSV — check-in/out times, worked hours, overtime, and absence records. Ready to import into payroll systems for LOP and overtime calculations.

Affordable flat-rate pricing

Leave management and attendance tracking at $10/month flat — unlimited employees, no per-user fees. An affordable digital solution for Nepali businesses replacing paper registers.

01

Does Leave Balance meet Nepal Labour Act attendance requirements?

The Labour Act 2074 requires employers to maintain a daily attendance register for all employees. Leave Balance provides a digital attendance system that records check-in and check-out times, creating a systematic daily record.

This replaces manual paper-based attendance registers with a searchable, exportable digital system that supports compliance documentation.

02

How does overtime tracking work under Nepal Labour Act provisions?

The Labour Act 2074 limits overtime to 24 hours per week at a rate of 1.5 times normal pay. Leave Balance's overtime tracking defaults to these limits.

Overtime is calculated automatically when an employee's worked hours exceed the expected daily total. The weekly cap is enforced, and overtime data is available in CSV exports for payroll processing.

03

Can I export attendance data for payroll?

Yes. Monthly attendance data can be exported as CSV including check-in/out times, total worked hours, overtime hours, and absence records.

This data supports Loss of Pay (LOP) deduction calculations and overtime pay processing in your payroll system.

04

What happens when an employee does not check in?

Employees who have not checked in are visible on the daily attendance view as 'Not Checked In'. The end-of-day absence detection job automatically marks them as absent.

Administrators can resolve the absence as LWOP (full or half day), excused, or apply retroactive leave. The resolution is logged with an audit trail.

05

Is attendance tracking included in the $10/month price?

Yes. Attendance tracking is included at no extra cost. The $10/month flat rate covers leave management and attendance tracking for unlimited employees.

06

Does Leave Balance support Bikram Sambat calendar for attendance?

Leave Balance supports the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar for date display and the Nepali fiscal year (Shrawan to Ashad). Attendance records are maintained with both BS and Gregorian dates.
